Farm Stand Coordinator

UFI is seeking a Farm Stand Coordinator to work with the farm team to plan and coordinate all aspects of the vibrant community Farm Stand each week. The salary range is $20.00 per hour - $24.00 per hour based on experience and background. This is a 5 day per week, in person position.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
· Work with the Farm Manager & Assistant Farm Manager in planning and coordination of Farm Stand Friday events including but not limited to CSA pickups, sales, greeters' tables, demos, and any programming as needed
· Coordinate communication and scheduling of visiting vendors, demos, etc.
· Coordinate with visiting artists/musicians on farmstand programming
· Create updates and highlights about farmstand events for external use (i.e., newsletter, social media, etc.)
· Work with staff to complete necessary paperwork for permitting with ISD, Office of Food Justice, DTA, Mass Farmers Markets as needed
· Coordinate and run Farmers Market Coupon distribution including collecting data and completing reports as needed for Office of Food Justice
· Attend meetings and conferences on behalf of UFI with the intention of continuing on-the-job learning, and networking / building connections with broader farming communities.
· Work with production team to strengthen relationships with other Urban Farms in Boston through collaboration and exchange.
· Work with production team to foster connections with neighborhood groups and stakeholders.
· Set up and clean-up and break down of tents & tables
· Place signage and marketing materials
· Greet farmstand visiting vendors, musicians, anyone tabling and assist with setup
· Assist production team in all aspects of farm production including field prep, soil management, planting, harvesting and maintaining crops.
· Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
· 2 years of experience as a grower on a farm preferred.
· Valid driver’s license required.
· Experience with farm/planting/growing assessment and planning.
· Ability to interface and build relationships with other farm members and the local community to facilitate positive outcomes.
· Strong project coordinator/management skills.
· Ability to take instruction and work independently.
· Excellent communication and follow through.
· Strong organizational skills.
· Ability to work on-site.
· Must be able to lift 50 lbs, accomplish strenuous work on an ongoing basis in carious conditions including extreme heat/cold.
· Ability to work some evenings/weekends.
